Today I will share a quick yet yummy non-veg recipe with you all… If some sudden guests arrived at your place and then don’t worry,you can serve them a delightful recipe within few minutes.. The ingredients are also very simple and easily available at home..
It is a recipe of my home state Odisha.. Mustard chicken is actually a main course recipe with a mix taste of .. You can adjust the spice-ness according to your taste.. Here i have minimised the spicy part because my little son won’t eat much spicy.. Here mustard plays the main role ,so the name is.. Just note that all the ingredients should be fresh or freshly made…
Actually this recipe was introduced me by my newly wedded sister-in-law (bhavi) and I have made changes a few things in the preparation part as per my choice… Hope you all will like this.. Please read below to know the procedure..
Recipe : Mustard Chicken
Course : Main Course
Preparation Time : 30-40 minutes
Serves : 4 persons
1- Chicken- 500gm.
2- Mustard seeds
3- Cumin seeds
4- Coriander seeds
5- Garlic – 6-7 cloves
6- Onion – one large
7- Green chilli
8- Ginger – 3 inch length approx.
9- Curd (fresh curd) – 3-4tsp.
11- Salt per taste
12- Meat Masala
13- Half tomato (optional)
14- Two potatos (optional)
15- Curry leaves
16- Turmeric powder,Red chilli powder and dry red chilly..
1- Take mustard seeds,cumin seeds and coriander seeds in the ratio of 4:1:1 and grind to make a paste.. Then finely chop garlic,ginger and onion. You can grind roughly too.
2- Then wash the chicken and add turmeric powder, chilli powder, curd,green chilli, mustard paste and chopped ginger,garlic and onion and mix well.. Then add salt as per taste and mix properly..
3- Heat oil in a pan ,add 1tsp mustard seeds,then add few curry leaves and dry chilli..( I hvn’t added dry chilli here to avoid much spicy) . Then add tomato and potato into it.. It is very optional,you can skip as well. My son likes potato in nonveg recipes ,hence i added,you can skip..
4- Then after a minute,add the chicken mix to the pan.. Sprinkle 1 tsp. meat masala over it and cover the lid..
5- Don’t worry ,your chicken will not burn,and no need to add water,as chicken will leave water and this is sufficient to cook properly.. In between just check and stir a little just to make sure that chicken is cooking from each side.. Cook for 20-25 minutes till the chicken become soft and tender
6- Well.. mustard chicken is ready now.. you can add few drops lemon water over it as well to enhance the taste.. and serve hot with rice, pulao, chapati, naan, etc..
